WordPress has powerful SEO features built-in. It’s really important to get maximum SEO results with minimal effort and know-how for individuals, small and medium size organizations looking to build and/or manage flawless websites.

In my experience, Yoast SEO and the All-In-One-SEO-Pack are powerful SEO plugins that are easy to use for both those with no knowledge of SEO and pros. I recommend Yoast SEO for a full-featured solution, and the All-In-One-SEO-Pack for an even easier to use solution that also works.

Both Yoast SEO and the All-In-One-SEO-Pack plugins feature an SEO section beneath every page and post editor. This means you simply edit the stuff you need to right there when you are creating content and you’re done. Now let’s define “done”. I mean your site and content will be optimized for search engines. And you can expect to get better rankings and visibility than if you did not use those features.

There’s a reason entire companies earn money providing SEO services. Search optimization is literally a profession all its own. But there are some basic things that everyone can do to get better rankings. Yoast SEO and the All-In-One-SEO-Pack plugins make search optimization a lot easier. There are two essential things you want to do to optimize your website for search engines. First, add search friendly titles for all your content, and second, highlight keywords that you sprinkle throughout your content. In the SEO section beneath every page and post, simply enter a search friendly title in the “SEO Title” field and presto – your content titles are search optimized. Enter keywords you use in your content into the keyword fields to search optimize your content. Toast SEO will even display how many times your keywords appear in your content (a nice feature). These two simple steps go a long way towards optimizing your site for search, with a small effort.

There’s a lot more that can be done to make your website search friendly and ensure the highest rankings including content descriptions, URL redirects, XML sitemaps, social sharing optimization, and local SEO. Tom Ewer posted a blog on the Elegant Themes website reviewing the most popular WordPress SEO plugin Yoast SEO. He does an in-depth dive into the plugin and compares its key features to other leading WordPress SEO plugins. It’s worth a read to download the SEO basics and gain or maintain a useful understanding of the options. Below are some other WordPress plugins to consider for your flawless websites.
